EVAR UNITED Mountain Disaster Relief Applications Have Re-Opened! 
New Deadline of Friday, July 14, 2023 by 5 PM

The EVAR United Mountain Disaster Relief Application period has re-opened! After being awarded a one-time deadline extension by the National Association of REALTORS® RRF (REALTORS® Relief Foundation), we are once again accepting grant applications! Please note that the deadline will not be extended again.

The new deadline submission date is Friday, July 14, 2023 by 5 PM. All applications must be received by that date in order to be considered. The qualifications and criteria for applying, and the awarded grant amount has not changed. More details on the EVAR United Mountain Disaster Relief Application and criteria can be found in the section below.


The East Valley Association of REALTORS® is awarding grants of up to $2,500 to those affected by the February-March 2023 snowstorms in the mountain regions of Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear, and the surrounding San Bernardino mountain communities. This grant was made possible by the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, and is available for families that need assistance with their mortgage or rent payments up to $2,500 and were displaced from their homes and forced to secure lodging elsewhere.

Assistance is available for qualified applicants towards mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged during the snowstorms, rental costs due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the snowstorms, or hotel reimbursement due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the snowstorms.

Those that apply must meet the following qualifications:

  • Primary Resident. You must be a full-time primary resident of a city/community located in the San Bernardino County mountain region that was affected by the February-March 2023 snowstorms. Secondary and vacation homeowners do not qualify to be awarded grant funds. You must also be a United States citizen or legally admitted for residence in the United States.
  • Funds Only for Use for Mortgage, Rental, and Displacement Costs. The grant funds do not cover loss of income, business, other expenses including second mortgages (home equity lines or loans), clothing, appliances, equipment, vehicle purchase, rental or repair and or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.
  • Funds Related to Mortgage, Rental, or Displacement Costs. Any monies awarded through the grant will be related to documentation provided. (For example, if the applicant’s monthly mortgage payment is $1,500, the maximum grant awarded will not exceed that amount. If the applicant’s monthly mortgage payment is $4,000, the amount awarded will not exceed the $2,500 maximum.)

The following documents are required for all applicants:

  • Current California Driver’s License. Must be a valid California Driver’s license/Identification card or other governmental documentation evidencing primary residence.
  • Proof of Ownership/Renting. You must provide a copy of your mortgage statement or rent statement or lease agreement.
  • Proof of Displacement. You must provide a hotel receipt that is dated following the damage incurred to evidence displacement.

One of the following is required to show proof of damage to your primary residence:

  • Photos of Damages.
  • Insurance Estimate.
  • Copies of Written Claims, Settlement Proceeds or Claim Status Reports.
  • Copies of Repair Estimates from Contractors.

All documentation required in the application must be included as required on the application in order to be considered.

All information provided on the application to the East Valley Association of REALTORS® will remain confidential and will be available only to those who need to confirm eligibility for assistance and to those who process the assistance to be provided. This includes providing a copy of the application to the applicant’s lender or landlord, if requested. It will not be shared with other parties for any other purpose. In order to provide for a reasonable and equitable distribution of funds, assistance will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.  All grants are contingent upon the availability of funds.

The application period has re-opened through a one-time grant extension, and applications must be received by Friday, July 14, 2023 by 5 PM and will close after that date or until the entirety of our funds are depleted, whichever comes first.
